Citizens ride for citizens!
The aim of the Citizens' Bus Association is, in close cooperation with the city Schmallenbergto provide the citizens of our town with more mobility into old age at reasonable fares.
In order to achieve this goal, the organization of the bus service as well as the bus service itself is carried out by citizens working exclusively on a voluntary basis, who have joined together in the Bürgerbusverein Schmallenberg e.V. have joined forces.
The citizens' bus, which runs on fixed routes at fixed times on all working days in the city area Schmallenberg the city, connects smaller towns and residential areas in particular with the core cities Bad Fredeburg and Schmallenberg.
Inner-city transportation in Bad Fredeburg and Schmallenberg with eleven stops in Bad Fredeburg and nineteen stops in Schmallenberg optimally organized.
On weekdays, the community bus route starts in the morning in Grimminghausen and runs across large parts of the Hawerland to Schmallenberg and back. At lunchtime on weekdays, the community bus supplements the regular service to Ilpetal and connects these parts of the city. Bad Fredeburg to these districts. In the afternoon, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, the community bus also serves parts of Hawerland and Ilpetal.
In separate time slots outside the regular service, the community bus transports kindergarten children from some residential areas of Hawerland to kindergarten in the morning and at lunchtime Wormbach and to kindergarten Dorlar.

Fares and rates
Cheap from A to B
Locals and guests without Sauerland-Card pay the usual rate. Guests with Sauerland-Card and disabled persons with a degree of disability of 50% or more can use the community bus free of charge. For schoolchildren, the Citizens' Bus offers a special 10-ride ticket for schoolchildren at a price of €7.50 (use of all routes).
The community tariff and the state-wide tariff in accordance with § 5 Para. 3 ÖPNVG NRW are also recognized.

- Permitted bus boarding on signs in 30 zones (outside bus stops)
- Individual assistance with boarding and alighting (disabled persons) - if required
- Assistance with loading and handing (unloading) luggage
- Communication platform for "locals" and guests, information exchange!
- Personal approach and consideration of special requests (child seat requirements, special seat, individual exit, luggage accommodation...)
- Accompaniment and supervision of kindergarten children from boarding to handing over the children at kindergarten and back
- Advice/recommendation of cultural sights and historical buildings for tourists and non-locals
